Hi Listers, I wonder if anyone can help me find out what Pyde House was. My 5xgreat grandfather Thomas HAMMONDS was buried in December 1799 in Berriew, Montgomeryshire, and his gravestone says that he was *late of the Pyde House*. I've looked on maps and Googled, but I can't find out what the Pyde House was. I wondered if it was pied, as in 2 coloured, but can't find anything. If anyone knows, or has an idea of where I could find out, I'd be very pleased to hear from them. Regards, Ellie Thomas

Yes there was a house called 'Pied House' in the township of Vaynor Isaf in the parish of Berriew. This is the area immediately south-west of the village but Idon't know where the house actually was or if it exists today. Bryn Ellis
