I got this info from the 1851 census where his address was given as Blackboy Devynock ,he was 61 and his occupation was a sawyer. I know that he lived in St johns Brecon as that was where his daughter Ann was married in 1850. Any help you might be able to give me would be great ============ Dear Dave, A study of the 1851 census enumerator's description of District 8d shows that Blackboy was an area in Brecon near Mill Street just west of Brecon Castle in the parish of St John the Evangelist. Blackboy seems to have been on the north bank of the river Usk, west of the river Honddu. On the opposite bank of the Usk is the mouth of the river Tarrell. As 'Glyn Tarrell' means the valley or glen of the Tarrell, it's possible that the term Glyn Tarrell may have been applied to *any* section of the river Tarell, including the area across the Usk from Blackboy.
