Dear Listers, I have found an address for an ancestor on the 1841 census. The family are David Edwards and his wife and children - a farmer I believe. His address is: Tynewydd, Cwm-Toyddwr, Dyffryn-Gwy. (Reg. District Rhayader & Nantmel. Civil Parish: Cwm-Toyddwr) I believe this to be in the area around the Elan Valley but can't find it on any maps. Could anyone tell me - a) Exactly where it may be? b) What does 'Cwm' mean in a place name (I've met it several times now!) 'Gwy' or any of the above!! Thank you for any help you may be able to give me, Myra
