    3. Hello Julie, Unfortunately, for some reason that is wrong about the Derby link as the family never left Yorkshire after coning from Wales via Lancashire. The joys of family history. Edward and Mary were married in Harwood near Bolton Lancashire 8 July 1871. My understand is that Alexander Isaac (Grand father) was born in Sheffield, Yorkshire or there abouts. Edward Isaac Great Grand Father ended up in Yorkshire (Wakefield District- Outwood) as a mine manager or the like. My father was born in Dewsbury. So I class myself as half Australian, quarter Welsh and quarter Yorkshire, as strange mix. Thanks again Julie, Barry Julie Preston wrote: > > With the latest details you provided (young Alexander being an easier search > criteria) I found your family in the 1881 Census, living in Handsworth, > Yorkshire. 3. Barry, I'm not sure what you mean when you say, "the family never left Yorkshire after coning from Wales via Lancashire". Clearly, Edward's parents stayed in Lancashire, as did his brother, John.
