She is not sure if the NBG Hope's related to those at Abergwesyn in 1881, but I will ask her son Raymond more on that soon. Hi Lesley and all, The Abergwesyn Hope family are a branch of the Rhayader Hopes. William Morgan(s) of Clun, Llanfihangel Abergwesyn (& a candidate as father to our Joseph Evans. William is buried in Pantycelyn Chgapel) married in 1804 an Ann Price who was a servant at Llwynmadoc, Llanfihangel Abergwesyn. They had a son and a daughter also called Ann b1806, who married in 1830 Thomas Hope, carpenter, of Rhayader. Their children (number?) included Rhys(Rees) Morgan Hope who worked at Trawsgyrch in 1851, for relatives called Williams who also farmed Brynderw, Abernant and Llwynderw. Rhys(Rees) Morgan Hope married into the Cochiaid Cwm Tywi family when he married Margaret Jones, Daughter of John Jones and wife Sarah (?)and Granddaughter of Rees Jones (c1776-1859) of Cwmirfon and New Inn, Llanwrtyd and his wife Margaret (nee Price & originally of Penybont Isaf, Llanwrtyd Wells). Rhys and Margaret Hope went to live at Pentwyn (Grouse Inn) Abergwesyn (Llanddewi?)and they had descendents. I too am descended from Rhys Jones and Margaret (nee Price), but via their other son called Rees Jones of Dinas Farm, Llanwrtyd and his wife Elizabeth (nee Protheroe & originally of Tymawr, Abergwesyn.
