    3. Hello Mervyn, Have you any more details about your early Davieses please, as I am struggling to tie up your details to details that I already have about Davies families in the Llangammarch/Llanafanfawr areas? Have you found Jebidiah's baptism? Do you know the names of any siblings? I look forward to hearing from you. 3. Hello Alison Extremely hard with Davies being the most common name, so easy to muddle families, so here goes the basics of what I have: I have Jebidiah's father as Rees (Rhys) and he also had a brother named Rees in my notes, can't say where I got that from, think it was this mailing list at least 10 years ago. I will get organized ... honest! 11.12.1835 St Afans, Llanafan Fawr, JEBIDIAH DAVIES married Diana Thomas. Diana (bapt Dinah) was dau of John & Margaret Thomas of Llanafan. 26.1.1838 Troedrhiwdalar House, Llanafan a son Rees was born 15.1.1840 ditto a dau Margaret born 19.9.1841 Llwygurgan, Llanafan a son JOHN (my gt grdfthr) born 17.3.1844 Esgairgoch, Llanafan a son David born 1841 census at Llwyngwyn shows Jeb (independent means) and Dinah and a daughter aged 5 named Anne. I guess Rees and Margaret died in infancy. 1851 census at Wern Cottage, Llanganten (near Bluith Wells) shows Jeb now a butcher and Dinah with: Anne aged 15, John aged 10, David aged 7, Margaret aged 3 and Dinah aged 1 week. The two latter born Llanganten. 1861 census at The Rhew Llangammarch, Llanganten shows Jeb and Dinah with Margaret now 13 and Dinah 10. 1871 Census at Llanwern, Llanganten shows Jeb aged 73 now a farmer and Dinah aged 55, Anne aged 33 a charwoman and Dinah aged 20 a dressmaker. Jeb died Llanwern, Llanganten on 11.5.1871 (informant Anne Davies, dau) aged 73. 1881 Census at Fynonrhiw Llanganten shows Jeb's daughter Anne aged 45 now married to William Williams a general labourer with their dau Margaret Anne aged 2 and the widow Dinah aged 66. 1891 census Llanynis .... the Williams family with widow still plodding on. Jebs son JOHN DAVIES moved to coal fields in Aberdare ............. my paternal line ........ Hope that is a help regards Mervyn Davies Colchester, Essex ----- Original Message ----- From: "Alison Skipper" <alison@skippers.org.uk> To: <powys@rootsweb.com> Sent: Friday, January 18, 2008 10:59 PM Subject: Re: [POWYS] Searching Jebidiah Davies connections > Hello Mervyn, > > Have you any more details about your early Davieses please, as I am > struggling to tie up your details to details that I already have about > Davies families in the Llangammarch/Llanafanfawr areas?
