I am looking for parents of Evan Nokes; he was probably born in Mont about 1809. Does anyone have information on this Nokes family? ================== Dear Tomi, The marriage entry in the IGI was submitted by a member of the LDS Church. It does not appear to have been extracted from an original church register, and the submitter has not cited the sources of his/her information. You should therefore treat the details with great caution. Further (unsubstantiated) details of this family line are displayed at: http://genforum.genealogy.com/nokes/messages/202.html According to the on-line obituary of Margaret Gwendoline JERMAN (d. 9 Dec 2007), Lower Trehilig is a farm near Welshpool, MGY - see the relevant Google cached webpage at http://tinyurl.com/39w7vp Trehelig is at grid reference SJ215035 on the detailed UK Ordnance Survey 'Landranger' 1:50,000-scale map. You can see the relevant 3-kilometre square section of this map at the Streetmaps website www.streetmap.co.uk/ In the search section near the top of the Streetmaps homepage, select the 'Landranger' option, enter SJ215035 into the search field and click the Search button. If necessary change to the Landranger map format by clicking the area midway between the [+] and [-] zoom buttons at bottom right of the map. You'll see Trehelig identified by name and by a small orange arrow near the centre of the map. It is close to Welshpool Airport. You can see the same location in more detail on a larger scale Ordnance Survey map at the Get-A-Map website http://getamap.ordnancesurvey.co.uk/frames.htm In the search section near the top left of the Get-A-Map webpage, enter SJ215035 into the search field and click the GO button. Click on the zoom control buttons to the middle left of the map to obtain a 2 km x 2 km section of a 1:25,000 scale 'Explorer' map showing Plas Trehelig, Upper Trehelig and Lower Trehelig.
