    3. Dave, The 1881 Census shows individuals gave variations of this place name as their birthplace but it's not a census place in that year. I used the National Library of Wales database and found a possibility -- subject to correction if anyone knows better -- in the parish of Llanilltyd (referred to as Glyntarrell Chapel or Capel Illtud - looks like the same structure), Swansea & Brecon Diocese, which was a Chapel of Ease to the Parish Church of Defynnog *without its own PR* before 1776. Separate parish formed 1887. Powys County Archives have a microfilm of registers with christenings from 1776 -- originals held at NLW. I hope this helps.
