Hello, I have Evan Nokes b. abt 1809 in MONT in my family tree. He was married to Mary Jane Lewis in 1834 in Trevethin, MON. I recently found Batch C100281 on the IGI where I find a lot of the surname Evan(S) and a few Nokes. The area is around Welshpool. My theory is that Evan could have taken his first name from his mother's maiden name of Evan(S), as was common. My problem is how to sort through all the Evan(s) to figure out who were Evan Nokes family. Can someone tell me how to proceed with this? Evan is on the 1841 and 1851 Wales census, but he is in Pennsylvania in 1870, so I won't find any burial information. Thank you for any help.
