Please can you tell me at what time of year the 1841 would be recorded, and do all the others follow that date?? I have been unsuccessfully trying to find the record of William Jones birth age 3 months on the 1841 Montgomery census.. presuming it to be around march is this correct?? Denise et al, The dates for the censuses for the whole country are as follows: 6th June, 1841 30th March, 1851 7th April, 1861 2nd April, 1871 3rd April, 1881 5th April, 1891 31st March, 1901 Each census included all persons staying in a house, hospital etc at midnight on the date specified. The 1841 therefore covers midnight on the 6/7th June. I hope this helps. Listers - I know we are all looking into the past, but what about the 2011 census. How long do you think it will be before enumerators will take digital photos of families, or iris copies. I'd like to be "a future fly on the wall".
