Hello to you all, I recently found my ggg,great-grandfather Walter Chambers on the 1841 Wales Census rejoicing in the name of Waller. Shock ,horror he is living with my ggggrandmother before their marriage which took place in Merthyr in 1846. They are living in Llangendeirne ,Llandefeilog,Kidwelly Carms.Place seems to be Gelly Day? Dog? He claims to be a M S and she appears as a FS. Having been born on a farm in Glasbury and having given his occupation as farmer in 1846 I`m wondering what he might be doing there. He gives his age as 41 though he was in fact 49.Catherine Jones is only 20 I have looked for a previous marriage for him but have so far not found one. Anyone familiar with this area? Would be grateful for pointers as to how I might find out more. Jill in Sussex.
