Hello Listers My 3x great grandparents Edward McGrath and Margaret Daley were married at Brecon St Mary 16 April 1829; Edward was a private in 23 Reg Welsh Fusiliers. Margaret's brother Joseph was also married at Brecon St Mary 2 Aug 1829 to Sarah Jones; Joseph's occupation given as 'Nailer'. Does anyone have a connection to these people? I am searching for Edward and Margaret's parents. Kind Regards Mary Australia

Hi Mary, Did Edward and Mary have son`s called Mortimer and John by any chance, Marlene
Dear Marlene and Jill Thank you for your replies. Edward's wife's name was Margaret not Mary. They had four children that I know of - John born Brecon c1829, Edward born Ireland c 1837, Ann (Johanna) born Newport, Wales c1840 , Frances, born Bristol,GLS. 1842. John, Edward and Ann's dob deduced from 1861 census; I have Francis' birth certificate. In 1861 they were all living in County Durham ENG. - They certainly moved around! On Francis' birth cert. Edward's occupation is stated as labourer - so he has left the army. I haven't found the family on either 1841 or 1851 census. I have had two professional researchers also searching for this family between 1829 and 1861 with no luck. Margaret is a widow in 1861 census. I have Ann's marriage cert for 1858 in Merthyr Tydfil, she married a George King. Thanks again ladies Mary Australia
