    3. Hi David, If you are using Windows 7 there is in the Control Panel a legacy operating system. Control Panel>Programs (in green)>Programs and Features> click on "Run programs made for previous versions of Windows". A program Compatibility wizard then pops up. Follow instructions. When you next open Legacy 7.04 There is a hiccup on the screen whilst the program loads. You are asked via a "User Account Control" if you want to let the program take control of your computer. Say Yes. Any other program you already have open or any new one still operates under Windows 7. Hope that makes sense Mike I have just got Family Tree Maker 2011. Upgraded from v16. Very big and powerful, loads a lot quicker then v16, even though I have a lot of images of census documents and photos, etc. Stores them outside the main program. Research on the Web shows that this is a common problem with Legacy and many other popular family tree databases because the manufacturers have not updated their software. However, according to what I have read it seems that Roots Magic 4 (standard addition) works perfectly well with Windows 7. > > Before I buy a copy can any listers who are running Roots Magic 4 with Windows 7 let me know whether it works OK or if they have had any problems. > > Many thanks.......................................David > > > >
