Until version 3 I would have unhesitatingly recommended RootsMagic. Version 4 is unfinished product, where duplicate source even duplicate events turn up with depressing monotony. There is supposed to be a feature that automatically merges these type of problems, but it doesn't work. The one good thing is that it can now connect directly to the LDS new family search, so if you are a member (I am not) you can search for duplicates in other peoples trees and link them to yours so your tree can grow very quickly. Research on the Web shows that this is a common problem with Legacy and many other popular family tree databases because the manufacturers have not updated their software. However, according to what I have read it seems that Roots Magic 4 (standard addition) works perfectly well with Windows 7. > > Before I buy a copy can any listers who are running Roots Magic 4 with Windows 7 let me know whether it works OK or if they have had any problems. > > Many thanks.......................................David > > =================== > Visit the Powys Mailing List webpage at: www.jlb2005.plus.com/powyslist.htm > > ------------------------------- > To unsubscribe from the list, please send an email to [email protected] with the word 'unsubscribe' without the quotes in the subject and the body of the message > > ______________________________________________ > This email has been scanned by Netintelligence > http://www.netintelligence.com/email > . >
