Hi Sue, It was my connection. Many thanks for that information. I have just received some info re the Tal y bont Maddys as a result of your request in the Brecknock Group Newsletter. Will send it to you tomorrow, Hilary Williams BRE Group PFHS _____ From: [email protected] [mailto:[email protected]] On Behalf Of Sue Sent: 01 November 2010 20:39 To: [email protected] Subject: [POWYS] MADDY Hi, I'm sorry to say that I cannot remember who the person this e-mail is intended for is but am posting to the Powys list in the hope that they read this e-mail. I am referring to a Walter Maddy who married an Elizabeth Davies on 28 July 1885 in Brecknock. She was from Battle Village. The person I correspondended with was related to this Walter Maddy through his marriage to Elizabeth Davies who was not actually the daughter of David Davies but his wife was her aunt. Elizabeth was actually the daughter of David Davies wife and her mother died very young from smallpox. My correspondent was related to this Walter Maddy and I believed he was part of my family but have now found my family buried at Talybont on Usk. My Walter died aged 40 and his wife Elizabeth died only a year after they married. I would just like to say to this correspondent that this family does not belong to me. Apparently this family all ended up in Sheffield and Walter was living in Grimesthorpe Yorkshire at the time of his marriage. His father's name was Samuel Maddy. My Walter's father's name would have been Evan. I hope this gets to the person concerned. I'm sorry it means that we are not immediately related although I believe all the Maddys are related at some point in history. Hi Hilary, again. I have the Marriage Certificate for your Walter and Elizabeth. If you wish to have it I would be pleased to send it to you. With best wishes Sue
Hi Hilary, Since I sent you the last message relating to Elizabeth Winter I am wondering if you have all the information relating to that family. Is it Elizabeth Winter's family that you were interested in or do you want the Maddy line as well. As I said Walter the husband's name was Maddy and they had several children in Sheffield. Do you want the little family tree for these?
