Hi Roy, There is a village in Monmouthshire called Bryngwyn. It lies midway between Raglan and Llanarth. It has its own parish church, so its parish records would be the place to look for James Richard's baptism. http://web.me.com/clmorgan/Raglan_Parishes/History_Bryngwyn_Church.html My great grandfather farmed in the Bryngwyn you found, but that was in Radnorshire. Regards Dave in Oz I have been searching for the birthplace of my great,great,g/father, James Richards. In every census, from 1841 to 1871,his birthplace is given as Monmouthshire, and what looks like Bryngwyn...always indistinct! by using a modern Gazeeter,I have only found one place that resembles it. Bryngwyn ,Powys, just off the B2594. James was born 1808 and married Ann Edwards (b.c1815) at Lugwardine Herefordshire, 5/4/1834. I have been unable to find James' birth or baptism any where. Can someone help, please?
