    3. Hi Roy I have found the following in an index of the Bishop's Transcripts index for Bryngwyn, Monmouthshire James s/o William and Temperance Richards - bap Jan 10th 1808 also Ann d/o William and Temperance Richards - bap February 11th 1806 I am not sure which church althho Genuki only lists St Peters - I see that another lister has not found these refs - sometimes the BT's contain more info than the actual registers - you will have to find out where you can look at them and get a copy of the entry to confirm it. Here is the link to the pages I found the info in http://freepages.genealogy.rootsweb.ancestry.com/~monfamilies/Bryngwyn%20baps%20-%201812.htm Hope these help you Sue Ashton Newark ----- Original Message ---- From: R Davies <[email protected]> To: [email protected] Sent: Thu, 13 January, 2011 17:26:26 Subject: [POWYS] Bryngwyn Good evening,                   I have been searching for the birthplace of my great,great,g/father, James Richards. In every census, from 1841 to 1871,his birthplace is given as Monmouthshire, and what looks like Bryngwyn...always indistinct! by using a modern Gazeeter,I have only found one place that resembles it. 3. Apologies Roy. On the site there appear to be two versions. The first, on the one I looked at, the reference for 1808 is for a James born to a William and Temperance Williams. But this must a mistake - because the other version marks them - fitting with other entries - as William and Temperance Richards. Perhaps that is why you had difficulty finding the baptism - if, like me, you found information only from the other list. Good job Sue looked as the other list..and good job there were two. Apologies. Still, got it in end.. 3. Yes, looked again - checking my eyes were not failing me! The Bishops Transcripts mark James as born to William and Temperance Richards - correct - but the typed version lower down has it as Williams. On such things years of research could turn...what a case. Memorable. Three cheers for BTs and the placing of both versions on site.
