Hi Tomi My name is Jan and I also have the Prosser surname in my family history as well as the James surname. I have David Prosser (born abt 1801-1803) married Mary Prosser (born abt 1802), their eldest child was baptised in 1820 at Bethesda Chapel Cendl. Another one of their daughters Martha married Samuel James in 1855, Samuel James' father was John James. If you have come across any of these names in your research I would love to hear from you. Hi Sue On the 1841 census David (aged 40) said he was born in Cwngwybedog and they are living in" Enumeration District No. 8, all that part of the said Parcel of Prisk (sic) from Beaufort Turnpike road to Blaenonney comprising a part of Waungoch, Cwngwybedog & Cwm maenheulog", also living with them is an Andrew Posser aged 80, so I don't know if he is David's father or Mary's father as the 1841 census does not have relationship to head of house. David had died by the 1851 census and Mary and her children are living in Crickhowell. Mary also says on the 1841 census that she was born in Cwngwybedog also. I am so confused with all the different names and can't find some on the maps. I am sorry I don't know very much about David Prosser except that he married Mary Prosser I don't even know when/where they married. They seemed to be around the areas of Llangattock, Cendl. I know that one of their daughters Martha Prosser married Samuel James in Llangattock Brecon in 1855 and they both said they lived in Beaufort on the marriage certificate. I notice that Llanfihangel tal y llyn is not that far from Crickhowell and Llangattock, so they could be related. I have been stuck at this brick wall for many years and would love to break it down.
