John WIlliams, Llandefalle Hi Gareth, I think I can help you with this a little since I believe your John was the brother of Hannah Williams who married Rees Phillips who is in my line. There were 4 children in the family I believe, being John, Hannah, Margaret and Ann and their parents were John WIlliams and Ann (Unknown) In the early 1800's they lived at Brechfa Uchaf in the parish of LLandefalle and belonged to Maesyberllan Chapel, Trawscoed. I have been lucky enough to obtain a copy of the transcription of some of the early records for Maesyberllan and it is from these that I can find the baptisms of the 4 children with the names of the parents, and a notation of where they were living at the time of the baptisms. The only difficulty is that the actual registration of the baptism records was much later than the birth dates and were probably reconstructed in the mid 1830's from the records existing at the time. At the moment I have been unable to find any further information regarding the parents John and Ann, but have not looked at the Llandefalle registers for them to date.
