John and Ann Mills lived at a farm called Plentiful Gates, Upper Fordlace, Llananno from before 1861 until towards 1891, when their son Hugh Mills took over. Hugh and his wife Sarah were still there in 1916. However, I cannot locate its exact position. The 1881 census lists the farms in the area: Hugh is living at Upper Nanthir and his father John at Plentiful Gates. They are listed next to one another. Was it at Upper Nanthir? I have maps of the area including old ones. Fford-Las, Nanthir and Upper Nanthir are there but no Plentiful Gates. It can't simply have disappeared, or can it? I know that many buildings were demolished in the middle years of the C20. I have visited the area but could not locate it. Please can anyone help? Patricia Pryce
