The 1881 census lists the farms in the area: Hugh is living at Upper Nanthir and his father John at Plentiful Gates. They are listed next to one another. Was it at Upper Nanthir? I have maps of the area including old ones. Fford-Las, Nanthir and Upper Nanthir are there but no Plentiful Gates. It can't simply have disappeared, or can it? I know that many buildings were demolished in the middle years of the C20. I have visited the area but could not locate it. Please can anyone help? Patricia Pryce

Hello Shirley, I have been trying to contact Margaret Harvey, ever since I found her information on Rootsweb (I think it was this site). Your message makes it clear why I could not. My husband is descended from John and Ann Mills' daughter Mary. She was quite a gal! And took a lot of finding. I look forward to hearing from you.
