    2. I should be greatful for any information about Llewynoyadd in the township of Mystyrrhoes Llowdy, parish of Llandewy Ystradenny in Radnorshire. I cannot find it on modern maps. I know that a Price family lived there from 1841 to 1911. Also Hirfron Farm, St Harmon, Radnorshire. Patricia Pryce

    3. Hi, The spelling you have is misleading. Llwynneuadd is the current spelling on the OS maps, which makes much more sense of the Welsh name. On the OS maps it is located SO 073 698 Or from Crossgates follow the A483 north, after 1 mile take a left turn near New Lodge farm, continue north for a further 2 miles and there are two farms Llwynneuadd and Cwmfaerdy just off the road on either side. 3. Hi Patricia, Hirfron Farm is shown on modern 25K OS maps. It lies about three miles north-west of St Harmon at map reference OS 957773. The buildings are shown on the 50K OS map about 100 metres east of Cefn Llech, but the farm isn't named. The road that passes through Cefn Llech has been Google Sreetviewed, so if you position yourself just to the east of Cefn Llech on Google Maps and go into streetview, you can see the roof of Hirfron through a gap in the trees. On the 'Old Maps' website, if you put in co-ordinates 295700 and 277300 and select the 1889 1:2500 map of Radnorshire, you will get a good detailed plan of the farm. You will need to increase your browser magnification to at least 200% to see it, though, as the site is pretty useless without the enhanced zoom feature that it used to have. The ancestral home of my Meredith family was just across the valley at Cwmyrychen.
