    3. Many thanks, Nicola, for alerting us to these problems. I too have already found some problems with these findmypast transcriptions, for instance, an Owen Griffith being indexed as Griffith Owen. I also failed to find, via the search procedures, a baptismal record that I had already seen in the Merionethshire County Archives. But I was able to track it down by accessing another entry in the same parish register for around the same time and then using the 'previous' and 'next' commands to browse the pages, and so I recommend trying this if people can't immediately find what they are looking for. I suppose such teething problems are inevitable with such a large project, but I hope it will be possible for users to alert the site to the various errors. I am reasonably sure that some of the wrong parishes have been attached to records. For example, judging by abode names, it seems that some Llanllyfni, Caernarfonshire, records have been listed as being in Llanllechid, Caernarfonshire. In particular, some Llangollen registers are listed (without the parish specified) under Flintshire and Llangattock, Breconshire, has been listed under Merionethshire, as in the following entry which gives the county as Merionethshire in the list of search results: 4 May 1804 bap of Evan Jones son of Richd and Lea Place:Llangattock, St Cadoc Abode:Llangattog Parish County:Brecon Notes:Benjamin Price Record source:Blackwood Baptisms I still couldn't find the burials Clive was looking for though. 1. [POWYS] Findmypast Transcriptions
    2. Allan & Liz
    3. Hi All I have found that many of my relatives are missing from these transcriptions. As well as parishes missing of which Findmypast acknowledge and list, there are many people missing from the parishes that have been transcribed and that fall within the date range shown for a given parish. I hope this is still a work in progress and there are still records to add. There is a particular parish, Bodfuan, in CAE, where I transcribed my relatives from original church records and most of them are missing from Findmypast. Regards Allan

    3. It's rather sad, really. In years past I have located relatives on OPRs filmed by the LDS people - I have date, page and number - yet when checking certain FMP copies which state for instance, baptisms 1726-1915 for the parish, they are not to be found. It would seem that certain pages were missed during scanning or were not supplied. Of course, it is a delight when one find a few who previously could not be found due to lack of resources. So, suppose one can't grumble. Mind you, I wouldn't want to be trying that without a subscription - could get very expensive. The other day I went through quite a number of possibles without find the correct one. Cheers Graham Melbourne Oz
