I'm looking for some help with the location of the parish of Llanddwywa. I am searching for Jane Owens born c. 1800 and am using www.findmypast.com. I can find what looks like the record I want. It is part of the Powys FHS collection and gives the place of baptism as Cemais. Genuki says that Cemais is in Monmouthsire, which looks odd to me, as I was expecting Montgomeryshire. Looking at the image I can see the entry I want: "Jane d. of Owen Owens & Gwen his wife Jan'ry 26 (1800)" … and this is within the section "Llanddwywa baptisms 1800". This time Genuki suggests LLlanddwywau (Llanddwywe) as a possibility. But this is in Merionethshire. I am now confused whether the parish is Cemais or Llanddwywa and whether it is really in Montgomeryshire. Your wisdom appreciated. Mike Powell
