Hello Everyone, I hope everyone is enjoying the holiday season !! Like many of you I too want to thank John Ball for all of his hard work. I use his website almost daily. The Welsh gravestone inscription has been a wonderful tool. Does anyone out there have MI's for Churches and or Chaples in Crickadarn Village? My 3rd great uncle died there between 1881 and 1891 and I believe his wife died there sometime after 1891. Here is what I have; On the 1881 census John Price general labourer age 77(b.1804) born Llanavan Breconshire and his wife Jenet age 63(b.1818) born Abergwesyn are living at Crickadarn Village Crickadarn Breconshire. Also at the house are a ??child William Williams scholar age 11 born Brecon town. RG11;piece;5455;Foilio:53;page:7 On the 1891 census Jennet Price a midwife and a widow age 72 born Abergwesyn is living at Crickdarn Village. RG12;Piece:4567;Folio 51;Page 2; Any ideas or suggestions to find the location of their burials will be appreciated. Both John and his wife Jennet where from the Llanafan fawr area. Their parents belonged to indepentant Chapels and I have burials for many of their family members. I have MI's for the Chapels around the Beulah area and they are not to be found there. If anyone needs a MI look up for Troedrihwdalar, Beulah, Pantycelin, or Llanlleonfel just let me know. Kind Regards Robert
Hi Robert, Unfortunately there is no MI for a John or Jennet Price after 1862 in my Crickadarn Church MI list. There were several alternative places: Hebron Congregational Chapel & Ramah Baptist in Crickadarn parish, Hephzibah Baptist in Erwood, Beiliheulog United Reformed and Bryn Sion United Reformed in Gwenddwr Parish, according to the Erwood WI book "Hills & Sunny Pastures". I do not know of any published lists for any of these. If you find any let me know please. I have found some Beiliheulog register entries on http://www.freereg.org.uk but I am not sure they have burials. God Luck and Happy New Year Mary ________________________________ From: Robert Price <rprice84043@yahoo.com> To: "POWYS@rootsweb.com" <POWYS@rootsweb.com> Sent: Thursday, 27 December 2012, 15:42 Subject: [POWYS] Crickadarn Village, Breconshire Hello Everyone, I hope everyone is enjoying the holiday season !!
