I am not a descendant of Ann, but I have been curious about this family. Mainly, I have been trying to avoid confusing Mary Breese's grandfather, Thomas Breese (I think), and another Thomas Breese living in Caersws who I am descended from. At least, I think they are different people. Hello Listers, I am a new subscriber in the U.S. I am looking for the ancestors of my 3X great-grandfather, David Hamon. According to the 1851 census, he was born in Breconshire about 1809. In all other records I have for him so far, he was living in Monmouthshire; records start in 1832 with his marriage and end in 1860 with his death. I searched the list and saw an old message about Hamon/Hamer. I have a birth cert for a Martha Jane Hammer, 12 Oct 1861, also Monmouthshire. She is not part of my family. I have seen some records for Hamons in Llanfihangels Bryn Pabuan and Llanafan Fawr on findmypast and familysearch, but I cannot connect them to my David. My question is: how close are these two locations? Does it make any kind of sense that children of one couple would be baptized in both places? Thanks in advance, Margaret
Is anyone researching Ann Hamer, born 1842 in Llanwnog, parents David Hamer and Mary Breese? They lived in Caersws. I’m descended from her brother John (1852) and am researching the family generally. There are several Anns marrying in the Newtown district in the relevant time period and before I start ordering certificates I thought I’d try a long shot to see if there are any descendants of Ann out there who might be of help. Regards Rosemary Knutsen
Hi, I am trying find information about my 4x g.grandfather William Bevan who, I believe was a farmer in the Llanbedr area. I have found a licence bond for the marriage of William to Margaret Williams of 'Llanbedror, Talgarth' for 5th Oct. 1752 and I know he had a son, Walter who was born in1768 in Llanbedr. Walter died in 1848 and had an illegitimate son, Walter, with Ann Lewis. Thanks Maureen
Hi Can anyone fill in any details for me about Robert Davies b Llanfair Caereinion April 1839. Son of Robert Davies and Jane Rees. Both parents died young (don't know the cause) and he and his sisters, Mary Ann and Jane Ellin, were brought up by their maternal grandparents, Evan and Mary Rees. I think he died in 1917, but I can't find out anything else about him or his sisters. He was a tailor and fitted one of the carpets at Welshpool Castle - why? He seems to have been quite well known in Welshpool. He married Elizabeth Gittins by licence in Shrewsbury in December 1862 (their first child was born the following month). Also of Richard Owen b 1826 in Newtown, d 1907 Pembroke. A grocer then a Baptist minister, married to Catherine Evans (b 1840). Any other information anyone has about the families would be of interest. Many thanks Frances

Hello Everyone, Anyone out there from the Sennybridge area or know someone that is?? Trying to find out more info about a relative of mine John Leslie Williams and his wife Margaret. I know John died in 1990 in Sennybridge. If you can help please send me an email. Kind Regards Robert
Hi Angie, I would think that the only place that a Radnorshire county boundary marker could be at that distance from Clyro would be at the Wye bridge at Hay. Street view on Google maps shows what looks like a milestone in front of the turnoff to the left 100 yards towards Clyro from the bridge. Dear Listers, You may be interested to know that Ruth Hayward, whose e-mail account was compromised by a spam attack yesterday, has unsubscribed from the List. I assume this is a temporary action on her part and that she will re-subscribe when she's sure her computer problem has been rectified. Think they have hacked her AOL webmail account: thus she might not be able to change the password if it is too late. Whatever, you have to knock her off as a list user. AOL and HOTMAIL do seem susceptible to this sort of thing often because of their poor security. First thing to do is change passwords even though it is probably too late now. You could check to see if they have actually been sent from your account or just your address used as the "From" address on messages from another account. AOL security might be able to help you, otherwise someone might be able to work out from the message headers. Martin Briscoe Fort William martin@mbriscoe.me.uk

My Llandingat connection is through my 3x great-grandmother, Anne Davies, who married Howell Price, in Llandingat Church, in 1814. There may be a connection with your John David, but I have not been able to go back that far! Best wishes, Alison -----Original Message----- reply to Alison's question I am looking for a John David born or baptised about 1741 or before.
