Hello all I am trying to locate the birthplace of one of my ancestors a Susan Morris. I have found her and her husband and various children on all relavent census's however each one gives different place of birth 1841 Montomeryshire 1851 Fodden (could be Forden) Montomeryshire 1861 Waverton Shropshire 1871 Shropshire 1881 Welshpool Montgomeryshire All have them living in the Welshpool / Pool civil parish. Does anyone know if there is such a place as Waverton within that general area? Many Thanks Simon
Hi, I had a look at the 1861 census. It reads "Salop Worthen". (The index on Ancestry.com has an error.) Worthen is close to Forden and Welshpool. Hi Jill, I followed the link to the chapel and churches photographs, and I may have found a difficulty. On the Monmouth page, it seems that the photo file names and the identification on the web page itself are in conflict. Someone on my tree married in St Sannan, and I was curious about what it looked like. When I hovered my mouse over the photos, I saw the discrepancy. Otherwise, a lovely site. I LOVE the daffodil banner! Hi Lyn, Either go to Powys Archives in Llandrindod Wells http://www.powys.gov.uk and this link gives you their PR holdings http://www.powys.gov.uk/uploads/media/BrecPR_bi.pdf For Cwmdu you need to look at Llanfihangel Cwmdu and then you will see the dates they hold. Alternatively, Crickhowell Archives Centre hold the PR film of Llanfihangel Cwmdu as well, I believe. I'm interested in putting the following lines together on one chart, and hope that the following illustrates what I would like to do. William Price = Margaret Harris Robert Evans (1784-1863) = Margaret Morris (1781-bef 1851) These couples are the beginning ancestors and should include their other children as well as . William Price (1793-1870) = Ann Meredith (1798-1834) Jane Evans (1815-1885) = William Price (1807-bef 1861) William Price and Anne Meredith, and Jane Evans and William Price and all of their descendants David Price (1830-1914) = Margaret Price (1838-1903) Margaret Price (1838-1903)= David Price (1830-1914) I use PAF and PAF Companion which will allow me to chart one side of the family only and not combine both sides. I'd also like to know if anyone can recommend a family tree program that has a good report/register writing capability. I know I must be incorrectly using PAF because every time I make a change to a register, or create a new register, I have to reformat the report before I print it. I wrap text in the notes area but it always prints out with most lines having hard returns and therefore requiring major editing. Thanks for any assistance on the charting and family tree recommended programs to replace PAF. I hope this message makes sense! I am trying to find the parents of Thomas Price or Pryce who was born in Radnorshire in about 1808. According to the 1881 census, when he was living in Dowlais, Merthyr Tydfil, he was born in "Llanbadarn." Unfortunately there are three "Llanbadarns" in Radnorshire; Llanbadarn Fawr, Llanbadarn Garreg and Llanbadarn Fynydd. There is someone of the right age who was christening in Llanbadarn Fawr, but I doubt if he is the right one. He is probably the Thomas Price whose birthplace is given specifically as "Llanbadarn Fawr" in various censuses. The parish records for Llanbadarn Garreg do not list a Thomas Price of the right age. Unfortunately the parish records for Llanbadarn Fynydd have not been scanned and put on FindmyPast. Does anyone on this list have easy access to the Christening records for Llanbadarn Fynydd? If so I would be grateful if you could check if there are any Thomas Prices christened in the period 1804-1812. Many thanks, Roy
