I am in process of transferring FHS material from old PC to new laptop and have encountered difficulty with the excellent Mormon Discs for 1881. The Version 3 Viewer installed without problem but the Index discs will not load. Is the problem due to Vista? I tried emailing the help advertised when I bought the package a good few years ago, but it bounced. Does anyone have a current email address, or a solution to the problem. In grateful anticipation............. Eric, Llanidloes

Thanks Alison, I have no time to chase much this week, but I spoke to Mrs Ray Hope in NBG today ref Jeff's parent's names that you needed:- Mr Martin Hope Mrs Elizabeth (Mayne) Hope, ex London, a Police Inspector's Daughter who retired to Llandrindod Wells, she said. She is not sure if the NBG Hope's related to those at Abergwesyn in 1881, but I will ask her son Raymond more on that soon. 6 January 2008 Hello List, I'm looking for my great grandmother's family. She (Anne FRANCIS ) married William W. Evans in Glamorgan, 14 March 1858. A daughter born 14 Feb. 1859. I have both certificates for these dates & they both show Merthyr Tydfil District, counties of Glamorgan & Brecon. I have William, Anne & their daughter, Ann on the 1861 Census, in Glamorgan. Anne Francis was born 17 Sept. 1832. I have a list of her 7 siblings, with birth dates. She was the oldest, the others were born 2 years apart after that. Other than that I have no other information in Wales. William & Anne with 2 children came to Nova Scotia in 1864. I have the ship passenger list. I have had searches made for them in Glamorgan & Carmarthen but they are not there so I'm hoping SKS will look in Breconshire for them. Thanks in advance for any help. Sincerely, Emily Young Lancaster, Ohio USA
Thanks very much for your help Dennis. It is much appreciated. Alison
Can anyone help please? My step grandmother, Margaret Ann (nee EVANS) DAVIES, b c1885, daughter of Thomas Evans, was buried in Llangunllo in October, 1925. Does anyone have any record of this or information about the family please? Any help would be much appreciated. Alison Malvern, UK
Hi Allison, and Very Happy New Year to you All. I will look this up for you tomorrow, and I know a few Llangunllo people here and from my school days!!! The weather is bad this week..... I need some sun but Africa is in a big mess now...... Very best Wishes, Yours, Dennis, _dcleatond@aol.com_ (mailto:dcleatond@aol.com) . PS I attended the funeral of Jeff Hope in Newbridge recently, the last of the large Hope older family there, with links to Abergwesyn, Rhayader, and St Harmon. Two of Raymond's sons still run the family business there with Ray's wife Ivy, all good people. Jeff was in Gloucester Tax Office for many years after his RAF service in WW2.
