Thanks Dennis, I have visited Maesyronnan Church in the past but I believe it is more United Reform now. I also know Mrs. Leitch and if I don't find anything positive will get in touch with her. Best wishes Sue
Hi Camilla, Thank you for that and the web site. I did view a few of the websites containing Chapels but there wasn't much about whether they still existed or were in use as Chapels. I will have a try of your web site now. Thanks Best wishes, Sue

Thanks Sue, A retired friend of mine Brian Lopez takes some chapel services in various N/C chapels in RAD and BRE, and also the Rev Reardon in Builth does many others in a very kind way. I went to Pentref Baptist Chapel in NBG in my youth, and also to the Church at times!!! Very best wishes, Dennis

Hi Justine, Nice to see you again, and you are still cooking I see, with some good Awards. But we are all slimming in the UK these days!! There was a large BBC/ and Government Radio station in this area since before and in WW2, but it was closed and the tall masts by the Hill were blown up in very recent times. It is said they were used to communicate with our submarines, and other shipping perhaps in NZ,etc, perhaps.....Best wishes, Dennis
Hi Sue, There are some websites where you can look for churches/ chapels by region - I don't know if you've had a look at any of those? Associating Evangelical Churches of Wales has 62 on their database - I think they're all or mostly independent, so you should find some Baptist chapels (see http://www.aecw.org.uk/aecw/churches.php). I think this would be the most pertinent (being only Wales), but there are a couple of others (England and Wales together) I could get web addresses for for you. Hope this helps! Dear List, Justine Orme and others may be interested in Barry Flattery's email to me (below) today regarding Criggion Hall -- a topic discussed on the list in early 2006. I've removed all details involving living persons for the purpose of this posting. Barry is not one of our list members so please contact him directly, off-list, if you have more questions for him on this topic. I worked there in the early eighties.... [some info removed as it pertains to living individuals] I know a little about the confusion regarding the address. Criggion is actually in Wales but the postal address is: Criggion Hall, Criggion, Near Alberbury, Shropshire. Shropshire is otherwise known as Salop as I am sure you know. I only worked there for a year but remember the address very well as I thought it was very unusual. Regards, Barry Flattery

Hello Barry, Dewsbury district Sept qtr 1897. Marriage of Edward ISAAC and Eleanor BAIRSTOW. H.T.H. Lynne.
Hello Julie, Unfortunately, for some reason that is wrong about the Derby link as the family never left Yorkshire after coning from Wales via Lancashire. The joys of family history. Edward and Mary were married in Harwood near Bolton Lancashire 8 July 1871. My understand is that Alexander Isaac (Grand father) was born in Sheffield, Yorkshire or there abouts. Edward Isaac Great Grand Father ended up in Yorkshire (Wakefield District- Outwood) as a mine manager or the like. My father was born in Dewsbury. So I class myself as half Australian, quarter Welsh and quarter Yorkshire, as strange mix. Thanks again Julie, Barry Julie Preston wrote: > > With the latest details you provided (young Alexander being an easier search > criteria) I found your family in the 1881 Census, living in Handsworth, > Yorkshire. Thanks for you information Julie. I shall follow up the sites you were good enough to provide and see what happens. My grandfather Alexander Isaac born (26 Oct 1880) and was killed in a coal mine accident on (21 Feb 1921) and my father Robert Alexander Isaac emigrated to Australia in 1926.
