    2. Julie Preston
    3. Dave, The 1881 Census shows individuals gave variations of this place name as their birthplace but it's not a census place in that year. I used the National Library of Wales database and found a possibility -- subject to correction if anyone knows better -- in the parish of Llanilltyd (referred to as Glyntarrell Chapel or Capel Illtud - looks like the same structure), Swansea & Brecon Diocese, which was a Chapel of Ease to the Parish Church of Defynnog *without its own PR* before 1776. Separate parish formed 1887. Powys County Archives have a microfilm of registers with christenings from 1776 -- originals held at NLW. I hope this helps. 3. Dear Listers, Incommunicado till 27th Feb I shall be without internet access for the next few days because I am about to move from my temporary accommodation in the Upper Swansea Valley into a permanent new home in Brecon. During the move, my website will remain on-line at its usual URL, but I will not be able to update again it until 27th February, when my ISP has transferred my ADSL broadband internet connection to the new address and I have set up my computer equipment there. In particular, I will be unable to update my Weather in Wales feature until 27th February. I have already uploaded this week's Retrospective webpages. Once settled in my new home, I will return to normal updating of my website. Hi Peter, If you look at the archives of the Powys List, you will find that we discussed Cwm and Blaencamlais in January 2007, in answer to a query by Ridge Williams of Canada, who was tracing his ancestry there. There will be quite a bit of info there for you to follow up. If you check the 1841 census for Blaencamlais Fach you will note that a Siscil (Cecilia) Jones is employed at the farm as a female servant. On the date of her marriage on 24 November 1843 she gives her residence address as the farm along with Thomas Jones her to be husband. They were both employed as servants at the farm. They married in Devynnock (spelt this way on the marriage lines) Church and later moved to Merthyr Tydfil. I visited the farm a few years ago and the farm house is still there now occupied by the farmers daughter. A new farmhouse is also there and the farmer said that there were a lot of records in his loft and he would take them to Brecon Library so I would check there to see if there is anything on the barn. Kind regards Heather Hello Everyone, I now own a converted barn which was part of The Neuadd at Cwmcamlais, called Tan Y Neuadd. I was wondering about the history of the Neuadd.
