    1. [POWYS] Notice from Admin to members with AOL accounts
    2. John Ball
    3. Dear Listers, Many of you with AOL accounts were inadvertently unsubscribed from the Powys List on 17 November because your service provider (AOL) rejected incoming e-mails from the Powys List. Such rejected e-mails are returned to the RootsWeb, and are known as 'bounces'. Whenever the RootsWeb mail server receives four bounces from a member, that member's e-mail address is automatically unsubscribed from the list. As a result, 15 members were unsubscribed on 17 November. I have now resubscribed all 15 of these members. I urge the members concerned to complain to AOL about this incident, which also happened on a number of other RootsWeb mailing lists. The same problem has occurred in the past, when AOL has chosen to 'blacklist' incoming e-mails from RootsWeb mailing lists. 3. Hello Ruth, As soon as I read your mail I tried FreeBMD and using the phonetic search,lo and behold,I found Marriage June 1842 Crickhowell 26 487 David Pritchard and, on the same page Ann Philpots. Now I know that they may not have married each other, but I will send off for the certificate and will let you know the outcome! Lateral thinking is something I will have to work at! Thank you very much, that's a 7 yr old brick wall on the way down!!! Roy Davies

    3. Hello, my thanks to Rhian re her suggestion that son& daughter in law, could mean children from a previous marriage. However,as the two Philpott " in laws" were aged 15 & 12,and the Pritchard children were 15,13,8 and 2,I think there has to be another reason. But thank you anyway Roy Davies

    2. Hi Roy My guess would be that here you have a widow (Ann Philpott) married to a widower (David Pritchard) , and that each came into the marriage with two children already, and the youngest two are children of this marriage. Alternatively maybe just the 2 year old is from this marriage, in which case David had three children in his first marriage. 3. Hi Roy Son-in-law and daughter-in-law in this period and this context probably have the meaning of step-children so were probably the children of Ann Pritchard's first marriage to someone called Philpotts - a good clue for you being an unusual name in Wales. Sorry I can't answer the other two questions. 1. [POWYS] Lloyd family
    2. Trevor
    3. Hi all Been a while since I posted a request. I am searching for information on the Lloyd family in the following areas:- STS - Pelsall/Bloxwich/Walsall from about 1840 onwards SAL - Shrewsbury/Wellington/Atcham/Dawley Magna/Broseley 1700 to about 1840 Particularly Atcham/Chilton around 1700 as I have been unable to find the birth of Francis Lloyd or his marriage to Ann at this time although I have their children from 1712 onwards. Should you have any connection to the Lloyd family in these areas I would like to hear from you. A full list of the family to date and associated family names can be found on my website at www.trevlloyd.co.uk Many thanks in anticipation Trevor
