    1. Re: [POWYS] David & Ann PRITCHARD
    2. Hi Roy & all I wonder if Ann's maiden name was Williams. I looked up Anne Philpotts in 1841 & found her with her son John, 2, in the household of a William Williams in Clydach/Llanelly. No Mary with them Mary Philpotts aged 4 is to be found in the household of a John Williams, in Ewyas Harold (Herefordshire). Looks to me as though she turned to her brothers to help her out - only a guess, but based on a bit of detective work! You may be lucky & on the marriage certificate it may say Ann Philpotts (formerly .............) John emigrated to Australia in 1856 and his death cert. gave date of birth as 1830. As far as I know nobody has looked for, or found, his birth/bapt. in Parish registers. Is anyone able to do this for me? John's mother Ann came from Llanafan Fawr in Brecon. Regards Rosemary Knutsen in Norway - minus 15 with north wind blowing!

    2. Hi Robert I think your John Watkins is in Llanwrthwl in 1901 - a widower, policeman, b Talgarth, aged 55, in household of William Lewis a railway platelayer, 35, & wife Mary, 32. As for son, can't find one b Llangammarch but there's one b Builth in Llanwonno, & several others round about BRE & coal mining areas. 3. Hello List, I think I may have found a lead to my GGG grandfather, Evan Nokes. I have found the baptism for EVAN NOCK 27 Dec 1807. His parents were William and Elizabeth, living in Gwestyd (abode), Llanilwchariarn, Mont. Does anyone have more information on this family? Anyone connected to Nock/Nokes? Regards, Tomi LarsonOswego, NY
