FYI: This Francis Powell was born in Amherst Co. Virginia, married Nancy Whitehead,, parents of the Mary Powell mentioned in this will. The will mentioned in Wilkes Co. Ga., is another Powell Family., so far researched, as not my Francis Powell Sr. Line. This might be the R1b1a2 haplogroup, but I cannot be sure. I do not want to say that it is this Haplogroup, but it would be good to check out. William Riddle Powell, Francis Powell Sr., Francis M. Powell Jr., Lewis R. Powell, Pressly Powell, and many Powell's are from William Riddle Powell are in the "T" Haplogroup below. There was another Francis Powell Sr. that was born in Culpeper Co. Ga. in 1740-1750-51, He has a son Francis M. Powell Jr., and may have sons Lewis R. Powell and Pressly Powell, and a Lucritia Powell that married a Shiflett. Remember this Francis was born in Culpeper Co. Virginia. He is in the T Haplogroup of my Lewis R. Powell, and Pressly Powell plus Lucritia, and Francis M. Powel Jr.. This information might be of some help, sorting out different Haplogroups, Our T group covers a lot of names and territory, and so do all the other Haplogroups, so hope this might help someone really find their connection to Wilkes, Hart, and Elbert Co. Ga.
