Sure it is.  If I didn't think it had value I wouldn't waste your time or my telling you about it. 1.  It is a good first step for anyone who is interested and it is a good deal at this price.  Get some one in the door and most likely they'll upgrade. 2.  In many cases you can get a clue about a person having a possibility of being kin.  Particularly if you are in one of the rare Haplogroups.   If you are Haplogroup T and the person you have test turns out to be Haplogroup R you know they aren't from the same paternal line.  I Haplogroup R, but my first 12 markers provide a rare combination.  So 12 markers can give me a clue.   If you are one of those people with a 1,000 12 marker matches then it might not be of much, if any use to you.
