    3. Nelda,   I see that your line is I1 haplogroup.  Do you know anything about that haplogroup??  Have you studied that?  Jim, what does this mean as far as being a possible kinship to us "T"'s.  I have on the maternal side some I2's.  Could the connection be through the maternal side?  Any input??   Thanks.  Cousin Lee Powell    kit # 107720. ________________________________ From: Nelda Powell <nelda3731@gmail.com> To: "powell-dna@rootsweb.com" <powell-dna@rootsweb.com> Sent: Thursday, June 6, 2013 7:03 PM Subject: Re: [POWELL-DNA] Green Oliver Powell of Hall, Walker, Dade, Ga., and Calhoun Co. Al.. My Green Powell. Was born in 1799 in Pendleton County South Carolina but lived and died in Texas.  His father was James Powell born 1759 in Isle of Wight Virginia.  According to James' son George James father was John Powell married to Alesa Brewer. And John Sr. Was married to Mary Cromwell.  They have been found in Nansemond County (Norfolk now) Virginia. But no information to tie these together has been found yet. 3. A male Haplogroup I1 and a male Haplogroup T can not, will not and do not share a common paternal ancestor!    There is no connection between maternal and paternal Haplogroups, even when they "happen" to start with the same letter.  This is like trying to compare apples to nails.
