I don't know who his parents were but he belongs to the other Powells who settled in Smith Co. Tn . Jesse, Dempsey , William (not much known on him but he was in Smith, Sumner, Jackson area), and the Powell who went on up into Ky Henderson, Lazarus, Allen, Nathan. I would look hard at that group which I think if I am not mistaken, your Benjamin Bridges Powell belonged to. A younger Dempsey Powell from Smith Co. Tn also went to Illinois and I think he may have died in Nebraska. My husbands Powells were also in Smith Co but through testing we found that there was two different groups.
