"Cader" is a not uncommon Welsh name (appropriate for Powells, eh?). It means "Seat", as in the place of origin or the central spot. Note that in Welsh a "C" is always pronounced hard, so "Kader" is the same name. I've also seen the "e" replaced by an "a" in both variants.
