Facebook has been fabulous for my Powell line. I've found numerous folks I never met and have learned a great deal from them. They have also posted many old pictures of family that I would have never seen otherwise. I set up a Facebook page just for our particular paternal line. You can always tighten down Facebook to the degree that you don't have to see or share any more than you want to. Granted, you have to keep up with Facebook changes to make sure they don't disable your choices.
