Hi Jessica,I had a few minutes and because of the family stories I heard heard growing up and comparing them to what I found I thougt I would see if I could be of help.I think your Powell line is like my Powell line. It is not the Powell who was the Native American, but who they married. When we did our Powell DNA the Native American didn't show up. But it shows in the faces of descendants, so for our line it mustbe in the line of one of the wives. On Ancestry all of the records for Hanford and his father JimmyL. Powell born about 1881 in AL then migrates to OK before Hanfords birth about 1910 list them as white. Jimmy L. reportedlymarried a Dora Clifton when she was 16 and then lived in the Choctaw Nation,of OK. They show Jimmy Lee's father as as this Thomas Powell whoaccording to their site was killed by Federal Men for unknownreasons. They said that Thomas had operated a Ferry across theArkansas River. The F.C. Powell listed listes hisstate of birth as Virginia. Hope this is helpful.TTYL~Diane1860 United States Federal Census about Thomas Powell Name:Thomas PowellAge in 1860:3 Birth Year:abt 1857 Birthplace:Alabama Home in 1860:Southern Division, Lawrence, AlabamaGender:Male Post Office:MoultonValue of real estate:View ImageHousehold Members:NameAgeF C Powell47 Martha J Powell34 Peter Powell17 John Powell14 Cornelius Powell5 Thomas Powell3 James L Powell4.12 View Original Record View original image
