Several of us have been intriqued by the possibility that the Powells who are descended from John, Robert Sr., Benjamen A., James, and Ezekiel Powell are closely related to the Powells that migrated to Gordon County, Georgia and elsewhere. Therefore, I had posted a message on several sites hoping to identify a descendant. I have just heard a gentleman who is related to the Laurens district Powells. I am hopeful that he will be a candidate for DNA. You might recall that my grandfather once told our family that one of the Powells who migrated from Laurens to Fayette county, Alabama, was his cousin.
