    3. Jessica, Most of the people in the project ordered their tests directly from FTDNA. If you look at our website you'll see most kit number start with a number which means they joined through FTDNA. Those who joined through the Genographic Project have a kit number starting with "N". I looked at your FTDNA database matches and see that you have 466 12 marker matches. That is a lot, but is common to many of the Powells. You have a very common 12 marker Haplotype. The good news is that you have 7 exact 12 marker matches with other members of the Powell project. The sad thing is that of your 7 Powell matches several only have 12 markers reported. The only way to receive the true value of Y-DNA testing is to have enough markers to eliminate those people you aren't kin to. I hope you and others in the group who have stopped with 12 markers will consider upgrading. If you have questions about DNA testing or our project please ask. That is what the list is for. Thanks. First, the DNA and other information is either over my head or I simply cannot grasp all of this, all at the same time.. :) Secondly, I joined this group via the geno project from national geographic (which I think most everyone else did?).. Okay.. soo let me write here about why this project is important to me and my Powell family.. :) Thank You muchly, Jessica Powell _________________________________________________________________
