Robert and All, Nancy and I went to "NEW HANOVER COUNTRY, NC" in April. New Hanover County, NC came off of "CRAVEN COUNTY, NC" in the year 1729. New Hanover County (Wilmington) is mention in some of the court records of Craven County. Was really disappointed because a lot of records were destroyed in 1798. Was not able to help us. "BLADEN COUNTY, NC", came off of "NEW HANOVER & BATH COUNTIES, NC" in the year 1734. Suppose to have land records from 1734; NOT at the courthouse. The earliest we could find was 1784-1789. 1-William Stevens selling to Absalom Powell--1784 Witness: Reubin Stevens & Hardy Brown 2-William Stevens selling to Absalom Powell--1786 Witness: Samuel Porter & Richard Brown 3-James & Ann Gurney to Isaac Powell--1789 Witness: Barnabas Powell & John Chancey & Wm. Wilkison. Robert, you probably already know the above information. I believe they tie into your Isaac line? We are planning another trip to Raliegh, NC this summer. Maybe some of the records are there; we won't know until we try. Still looking for our needle?
