    1. Re: [POWELL-DNA] Osceola.. and Murky Water
    2. Somewhere along the way someone asked about a Powell in the Georgia Land Lottery. The Lottery is a very complicated subject and I certtainly won't try to explain - I'm not a native Georgian (though I live here now) and many Georgians do not know all the ins and outs. However I will mention some aspects. 1. They do not normally have a list of those who drew; only the "fortunate drawers". 2. There were several lotteries, with different requirements for quali- fying. They do not have any information on those who signed up, except a note of "Rev. Sol." and the notation of "orphan" or "Widow". And there lots of Powells in there. I have lost my note on the name of the Powell being asked about! Terrible note-keeping system! So please ask again, whoever you are and I will try to help. The Library in Macon has much information and I am only 15 mi. from there. -------------- Original message from Jecca Pow-Pow Wheels <[email protected]>: -------------- > > Hello Everyone, > > I am new to this group and have several questions.
