    2. Jim, I wish I could agree with you and Sue about our Powell's. We are not a few Powell's we are too numerous to count. What ever the reason for the Hooper??? is beyond me. I know the correct answer's are not here. We do match quite a few Powell's on the list with a marker or two off. The Hooper that matches us is from a small group of Hooper's that do not match other Hooper's. He went by several different names. How do we or you or anyone else know that he wasn't really a Powell who went by the Hooper name because he thought a Hooper was his father. He went by his mother's maiden name part of his life and he "thought" his father was a Hooper.. so, during the civil war he went by Hooper. The Hooper's who match us are his family. He was given to a family when he was a very young child and he left them at about 12 yrs of age because of abuse. They are the only Hooper's that match us.. Now for the Howard and whoever else who match us.,. just how many father's can a person have???? You can search till the cow's come home and this will not be solved. I have submitted two Ydna's on Powell's and am waiting for the results. Frances In a message dated 11/30/2008 5:24:02 P.M. Pacific Standard Time, [email protected] writes: And you are right. A few people get results they don't expect. A very close friend who thought he was a Barrett cousin found out he wasn't even though he and several other good researcher thought he was. His response was that he was a Barrett in spirit and that was all that mattered to him. He still comes to our reunions and he help recruit others for the surname project. **************Life should be easier. So should your homepage. Try the NEW AOL.com.
