    1. Re: [POWELL-DNA] Our Website
    2. Jim, I have found this hard to believe from the onset and of course, I talked to FTDNA and what they told me didn't add up because they said it had to have happened within the last 100 years. My mother is 101 and I know who her parents are without DNA. The person we matched was born in the 1800's. That was after our Abraham Powell. The Hooper didn't match any other Hooper. We know that Sue's gr. grandfather and my gr. grandfather were brother's and children of Abraham because we are exact matches. Now, the Hooper family who we match don't go any further back than this Hooper. He thought he was a Hooper but he was given away when he was a small boy and knew a Hooper that he thought might be his father. He could have been anyone.. After all who are any of us. There was a time when there were no surnames. You can match anyone. Frances In a message dated 11/30/2008 6:18:22 P.M. We can all have our own opinion. I hope you are satisfied with the results of the new tests. If you decide you want the results added to this Powell project please let me know. As you already know I accept results from several companies. We are not a few Powell's we are too numerous to count. What ever the reason for the Hooper??? is beyond me. I know the correct answer's are not here. We do match quite a few Powell's on the list with a marker or two off. The Hooper that matches us is from a small group of Hooper's that do not match other Hooper's. He went by several different names. How do we or you or anyone else know that he wasn't really a Powell who went by the Hooper name because he thought a Hooper was his father. He went by his mother's maiden name part of his life and he "thought" his father was a Hooper.. so, during the civil war he went by Hooper. The Hooper's who match us are his family. He was given to a family when he was a very young child and he left them at about 12 yrs of age because of abuse. They are the only Hooper's that match us.. Now for the Howard and whoever else who match us.,. just how many father's can a person have???? You can search till the cow's come home and this will not be solved. I have submitted two Ydna's on Powell's and am waiting for the results. Frances **************Life should be easier. So should your homepage. Try the NEW AOL.com.
