    1. Re: [POWELL-DNA] Joseph Powell born 1760 Pennsylvania
    2. You apparently know quite a bit about my line. What bothers me is that I have all these records of early Powell Texans who were apparently unrelated and yet as of yet, to my knowledge, are not related to any of the DNA crew. I have been able to track only Benjamin H. Powell to the Powell Book. Does not make sense to me. I have come to think perhaps the S. of Hezekiah may not be Smith. It is possible the S. is Smithson, however, no Smithson has been willing to consider such a thought. I do know that there is a strong relationship of my line to Smith in that Zachariah Taylor Powell, 1849, married one from North Carolina. Melissa Powell, subsequent to William Robert's (1811, TN) death also had a strange land transaction in which 2 or 3 Smith kids sold her property that she subsequently sold for a bunch more than she paid. I suspect that William R. had a daughter that married a Smith. Shame we are not related. I have had the privilege of knowing a number of Powell men in my line. I have never known better fellows.
