The 3rd family l will have to look back in my records. Plus, lat least two of the families both had circuit riding preachers. Kit 85885 has a Joseph Powell born 1720-1740 son of David born 1718. I have a Joseph Powell born 1740 son of David born 1718. David was the son of Joseph Powell and Joan Miles. Joseph was a brother to my Thomas Powell born 1694 who was the father to my John Powell born 1730 Chester Co, PA, and John was the Grand-father of Joab Powell. I hope that made sense. 1. This IS my line: Joab Powell, born 1799 Claiborne Co, Tennessee, son of Joseph Powell and Hannah Jewson (Juson). I think this line goes back to 1507 Horsley, Denbigh Co, Wales to: Hywel ap Dafydd (David Howell) and Margaret Evan. 2. This is Not my line, and I hope I have these facts straight. James Powell, born abt 1749 Powell married Sally Randall (Born in Wales, came to America in 1765, fought in the Revolutionary War, and settled in Clark Co., VA (now KY) Sons: Joseph married Sarah Alkaire and Samuel married Elizabeth Alkaire. There is a John A Powell that is part of this family that came to Oregon around 1851 to Linn Co. Joseph and Sarah had a daughter Lucinda that married Anthony Propst, they died on the way to Oregon in 1852 and their childre were put under the guardianship of their maternal uncle Powell who came to Oregon in 1851. My interest was initially based upon a John G. Powell in a Hardin family Bible that someone had that was from somewhere in Oregon. I found the John G. and traced him, but could not place him with anyone of my family. Do you know which one of the groups your branch matches on our website?
