Jim, First off... Thank you for the time you invest to this venture for all of us. I wrote awhile back. My Mother's maiden name is Powell. Her deceased father is Harold Vincent Powell AKA on some documents as (Harlan Vencen) The Joab Powell Reunion is one that we attend. At this point we have no paper trail that I know of, yet it is thought that we are connected to that lineage. We are still looking for a male relative to do the y-dna test. My Mom has done the Mt-dna. Just wanted to chime in as I recognized the info details...Joab Powell (Circuir Rider Preacher) & Caroline Webb (Administrator of this leg of Genealogy group) as you are trying to organize groupings. The Powells that we know lived and worked in the Linn Co. area. They were Loggers. My Grandfather and one of his brother when in their early teens fell a tree, and it killed their father.
