    2. I had the greatest experience on Friday. While at a UPS store mailing some data, I noticed someone copying data about the Texas Revolution. That person turned out to be the great grandson of Alphonso Steele. Alphonso was at the battle and afterward recovered from his wounds and married Mary Ann Powell. Mary Ann was the daughter of Archibald Powell, brother to James, Hezekiah, and William R. Powell, 1811, TN. He has a great deal of info on his branch of our family tree. With his permission I will share it with those of you who would like. 3. Be careful when reading the section in Vol. I on George Powell. Further research proves that his father was John Powell (1670-c.1747) who died about 1847 in Perquimans NC. In addition to other corrections that need to be made to that research is the death of Moses Powell Jr. . . . His will was written in 1821 but he did not die until 1824 in Jasper Co., GA. There are more corrections that have been proven but I'm hoping somebody has done more on George Powell of Nansemond. ... Also it is easy to confuse Nelson Powell and Benjamin Powell of Wilkes County GA. They are sons of Francis Powell . . . not Cader Powell. Cader's known children are Lewis, Benjamin, Cader Jr. and Patience. I'm hoping someone has found copies of the deeds (I only have exerpts) in Jones County GA where Cader in slave deeds in 1816 named his children. Those should help us with something here . . .
