Skip, If you are ever in Columbus, GA, try the BBQ there. There is one restaurant that has been in business many year, moved from Phenix City, AL, named Chicken Comers - they don't service chicken, but pork. Their sauce is a hot mustard base, it's great. Another, not far from the first, is Fat Freddies, his hot tomato base sauce is wonderful. The BBQ is served chipped, chopped or sliced. Neither of these are sweet. Take care, all. I believe you choice in BBQ is based on where you grew up, not your genetic makeup so this might be a bit off topic. Being from Texas I'll take beef brisket or pork ribs as my BBQ of choice. I think David hit the nail on the head. Good food & good people! Just a note. My experience with the Texas records is that the date a county is formed does not equal the date they commence keeping records. Consider going to the county that they county or counties were formed from. The legislature formed a county on a certain date, but an organization must be created before they can even commence to file records.
